Be happy: Ihmir Smith-Marsette snaps back at critical comment from ex-Hawkeye long snapper
Ihmir Smith-Marsette didn’t have any time for this comment from a former Hawkeye and Iowa teammate.
During Friday’s hard-fought win against rival Nebraska, Smith-Marsette had three catches for 44 yards. He did have one fumble in the game, and that is what Tyler Kluver jumped on via social media.
Kluver, who was previously a long-snapper for the Hawkeyes, called out Smith-Marsette’s ball security on Twitter. After the win, Smith-Marsette responded:

For what it’s worth, Kluver responded and tried to smooth things over, but he continued to discuss the ball security:
I’m chillin mir haha good win. But be honest with yourself, you could hold it tighter 😅

Kluver was a long snapper for the Hawkeyes from 2013-17. The two players were teammates briefly during Smith-Marsette’s freshman season in 2017.
Regardless of Kluver’s comments, Smith-Marsette continues to be a key piece to Iowa’s 2020 season for the 4-2 Hawkeyes. After a slow start to the year, Kirk Ferentz’s squad has rattled off four straight wins.
