Michigan WR AJ Henning climbs the ladder for incredible catch, sets up short TD for Wolverines

For what has been a rough start against winless Penn State, it was a play by Michigan’s A.J. Henning’s late in the third quarter that might just be a spark for the hapless Wolverines offense.
Henning’s 28-yard catch came with just 30 seconds left in the third quarter, a play in which the Michigan wide receiver jumped over Penn State cornerback Daequan Hardy. The moment was the catalyst in what would become a scoring drive for the Wolverines. On a ball that was underthrown by quarterback Code McNamara, Henning’s rose up and over a well-positioned Hardy to make the catch.

There may have been a bit of offensive pass interference but let’s not quibble over what was a great play and a much-needed spark for a struggling Michigan offense.
Five plays after Henning’s highlight catch, Michigan’s Hassan Haskins ran in from two yards out. With a successful point-after attempt, Penn State’s lead was cut to 20-17.
Before that play, Henning had just two receptions for three yards.
