Even with Purdue notching their first safety in four years, it wasn’t the only great thing that the Boilermakers did in the first half against Rutgers.
Purdue rushed for 142 yards in that half against the Scarlet Knights, which is a season-high. Their previous high was 125 yards at Minnesota, according to Tom Dienhart:

Zander Horvath, who had that leaping hurdle in the first half as well, had 69 of those 142 yards rushing in the first half, plus a touchdown. His longest run was 15 yards.
King Doerue had 41 yards on five carries for Purdue and then quarterback Jack Plummer had 27 yards rushing on five carries, plus a rushing touchdown.
It was one of Purdue’s most impressive halves of the year and they’re currently up 23-13 going into the second half. The game is currently being televised by FS1.
