A spokesperson for Towson University announced in an email on Monday that the Towson men’s basketball game scheduled for Tuesday against Maryland has been cancelled, following a positive COVID-19 test among one of the Tigers’ support staff.

The report said no players or coaches have tested positive.

The game had been scheduled for 7:00PM on Tuesday, and a decision on rescheduling has yet to be made.

The announcement stated further that the game was canceled “due to Big Ten Conference policy and out of an abundance of caution.”

Maryland’s assistant athletic director Sean Ellenby announced in an email on Monday that the Terrapins scheduled game with George Mason for Friday afternoon is still set to take place.

The Terrapins are off to a 3-0 start and have received votes in this week’s AP Top-25 poll.

Friday’s game with George Mason is set to tip off at 3:00PM on Friday on the Big Ten Network.
