Penn State hoops had their hands full with VCU Wednesday but the big story of the game was the play of forward Seth Lundy.

Going into this game, he only averaged 5.3 points per game as a freshman and the highest he scored in a game was 19. That game came against Iowa on Feb. 29 of this year.

In this game though, Lundy was the Nittany Lions’ best player as he had a career-high 32 points. He also had four rebounds, two blocks and went 11-for-19 from the field overall. From three-point range, Lundy was 5-for-10.

Other than that, this game was a true nailbiter the whole way through. Penn State was up 35-32 at halftime and then the Nittany Lions won the game at the end with a bucket from Myles Dread, 72-69. He finished the game with just three points but it was the biggest three points of the game.

Up next for Penn State is a date with Seton Hall this Sunday.
