Ezekiel Elliott: I probably have one of the easiest jobs in America

Ezekiel Elliott walked into one of the best situations of any first-round pick.
The former B1G Offensive Player of the Year will get a chance to play with arguably the best offensive line in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys O-line paved the way for career years for the likes of DeMarco Murray, Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle, none of whom were as talented as Elliott.
Elliott is well aware of that. In fact, he has so much confidence in his line that he thinks his duties are far easier than fellow rookie running backs. Or fellow American citizens.
“I think I probably have one of the easiest jobs in America,” he said. “I get to run behind the best O-line in America, run through those huge holes, they make your job easy.”

That’s the politically correct thing to say about an offensive line, which has been nothing short of dominant the last few years. The Cowboys just agreed to a $56 million deal with former Wisconsin star Travis Frederick, making him the highest-paid center in the NFL. So clearly, Elliott is in a stable situation.
But one of the easiest jobs in America? That’s saying a lot.
Elliott’s biggest challenge right now is getting his hamstring healthy so that he’s ready to go when the season kicks off in three weeks. He sat out the Cowboys’ first preseason game, and in all likelihood, he’ll see very few snaps until the season opener.
If Elliott is still claiming to have “one of the easiest jobs in America” after his rookie season, then he’ll likely have a Rookie of the Year trophy coming his way.
