This was Stroud’s second appearance of the season. However, this was the first time he’s recorded any statistics in a Buckeye uniform. This was his only carry on the day and only Justin Fields threw a pass.
Still, it’s a nice way for Stroud to get comfortable with game action.
Next season, assuming Fields enters the NFL draft as expected, Stroud will be competing with fellow freshman Jack Miller for the starting spot.
Stroud is a 5-star prospect and the No. 42 overall player in the country for the class of 2020, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Stroud was the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the same class per the same rankings.
Ohio State is currently scheduled to play Michigan next week.
