Head coach Mel Tucker has provided an update on Michigan State starting quarterback Rocky Lombardi, who left the game against Ohio State with an injury.

Tucker spoke to Chris Solari from the Detroit Free Press and he said, “Rocky’s banged up. I don’t know what the extent is. I’ll find out here in a little bit and we’ll see how he is and I know he’ll be ready when he’s ready.”

Before Lombardi got hurt, he wasn’t having that good of a day as he was just 5-for-11 for 33 yards passing and one interception.

Michigan State ended up losing the game, 52-12 even after backup Payton Thorne came in for Lombardi. He went 16-for-25 for 147 yards with an interception.

We’ll have to see which of the two starts next Saturday against Penn State. Kickoff time for that game is still TBD.
