Purdue named its starting quarterback for the 2016 season Monday morning when the Boilermakers decided on David Blough. Blough is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound sophomore and played in 10 games as a freshman last season.
Blough, a former three-star recruit out of Carrollton, Texas, completed 57.7 percent of his passes and threw for 1,574 yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with his eight interceptions a year ago. His best game in his freshman campaign came against Nebraska when he led the Boilermakers to a 55-45 victory.
Blough completed 28-of-43 passes for 274 yards in that game and he threw four touchdowns without committing a turnover. He also ran 10 times for 82 yards and a score in that contest.

Purdue went 2-10 overall in 2015 and will begin its 2016 season at 11 p.m. CST on Sept. 3 at home against Eastern Kentucky.
