Ryan Day, Ohio State preparing for Michigan ‘until we hear otherwise’

There is no backup plan. Ohio State is preparing for Michigan, regardless of the rumors and uncertainty occurring in Ann Arbor right now.
On Tuesday, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day met with the media for his weekly press conference. Day is back with his team after spending time away because of a positive COVID-19 test that kept him at home while Ohio State traveled to Michigan State over the weekend.
While Ohio State had its own issues with the virus a few weeks ago, Michigan is now enduring a similar problem. The Wolverines were forced to cancel last weekend’s game against Maryland and now “The Game” is in serious jeopardy.
But Day and his team aren’t focused on anything other than beating Michigan right now.
“Everything we’re hearing, we’re playing the game,” Day said, per Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News. “It’s not any different until we hear otherwise.”
Michigan has resumed limited team workouts but has also postponed media availability for head coach Jim Harbaugh and players twice. There’s serious concern that the Wolverines won’t be able to play this weekend.
That would mean Ohio State would finish the regular season with a 5-0 record and would not qualify for the B1G Championship Game under the current requirements, failing to meet the 6-game minimum.
But Day isn’t letting the whispers get to his team. The only focus is Michigan.
