Justin Fields reacts to cancellation of Michigan-Ohio State game

Everyone is disappointed. It stretches from Ann Arbor to Columbus and all across B1G country. None more than the players, though.

After learning the news of Saturday’s cancellation of “The Game,” Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields sent out a short tweet to share his emotions. The Heisman-caliber QB used simply an emoji to sum up his feeling on the decision.

Fields is 1-0 against Michigan, leading the Buckeyes to a convincing victory over the Wolverines in Ann Arbor in 2019. This would’ve been his second game, and it’s likely his last in an OSU uniform as the NFL Draft is calling his name.

Other Ohio State players chimed in on the decision, as well.

Unless the B1G allows Ohio State the opportunity to schedule a last-second opponent, the Buckeyes will finish the season with a 5-0 record and will fall one game short of qualifying for the B1G Championship Game.

We’ll see what happens, but clearly there’s plenty of disappointment one of the sport’s biggest rivalry games was canceled. There’s even more disappointment that the B1G didn’t have a better plan in place.
