One of college football’s top RBs has opted out for the rest of the season

Chubba Hubbard has decided to call it quits on his collegiate career, the Oklahoma State running back now focused on the NFL Draft even as the college season still has some juice left in it.
He will not play in Saturday’s game against Baylor for the Cowboys, who are 6-3 and ranked No. 22 in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings. And somewhat obviously, he will not participate in any bowl game for Oklahoma State.
Hubbard was one of the nation’s top running backs, topping 2,000 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2019. This year, his production dropped as in seven games he had 625 rushing yards with five touchdowns.

There was also a significant drop for Hubbard in yards per carry as well as yards per reception.
This won’t stop NFL teams from eyeing him in next spring’s draft. Hubbard is likely to be a Day 2 selection and could well go as early as the draft’s second round depending on his NFL Combine numbers and workouts.
In 33 games in Stillwater, Hubbard finishes with 3,459 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns.
