Northwestern is heading to Indianapolis with a bit of momentum, a 28-10 win over Illinois capping a tremendous regular season for the program and head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
The win means that Northwestern finishes 6-1 on the season. The victory came in impressive fashion, as Northwestern had 493 yards of total offense, 411 yards of which came on the ground. Not a bad day for the Cats.
In the latest College Football Playoff Rankings, Northwestern was No. 14. Now, the Wildcats turn their attention to Ohio State, where they’ll take on the Buckeyes for the B1G title. The two squads last met in Indianapolis at the end of the 2018 season, a game Ohio State wo.
Here is what Pat Fitzgerald said after Northwestern’s win over Illinois:
#Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald on "little brother" comment from Illinois' Milo Eifler: "If anyone would like to say anything derogatory toward our players, please do so this week. That was not taken very kindly in our locker room."
