Win, and Ryan Day thinks, Ohio State will be in.

That’s the mentality for Ohio State, who face Northwestern on Saturday in the Big Ten Championship Game. At 5-0, Ohio State is once again No. 4 in Sunday’s AP Top 25 Poll.

For Day, Ohio State’s head coach, he’s convinced that taking the conference’s championship game will be all that Ohio State needs to book a ticket to the College Football Playoff.

The Buckeyes needed some maneuvering just to get to Indianapolis for the championship game. With six games played needed to qualify, Ohio State didn’t meet the needed threshold as they’ve had three games cancelled due to COVID-19.

But some machinations by the Big Ten allowed for Ohio State to play against Northwestern (6-1, No. 14), giving the conference their best and likely only viable path to a team qualifying for the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State has beaten just one team this season that is currently ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll, making Saturday’s game an important one for the Buckeyes to boost their resume for the four-team playoff.

Ohio State is No. 4 in the CFP rankings with Northwestern at No. 14.
