While players (and programs) are opting out of bowl games, one prominent Wisconsin football player on Tuesday said that isn’t an option. They hope to keep playing.
With the NCAA approving an additional regular season game as well as the college bowl game slate looming, there are still opportunities for players to get on the field. And while some are calling quits on their collegiate careers to get ready for the NFL Draft and other programs, like Boston College, are simply opting out of a potential bowl game, it appears that there are some who want to keep playing.
Players such as Wisconsin fan-favorite Garrett Groshek.
“You don’t need to ask me to play another football game. I’m going to want to play, I know a lot of other guys will want to play,” Groshek said on Tuesday. “Especially with us having to cancel a couple of games. I know we’ll have a decent amount of guys that will want to play.”
