Wisconsin coach Joe Rudolph is hopeful senior receivers Kendric Pryor and Danny Davis will return to the Badgers in 2021.

It’s been a nightmare season for Pryor and Davis, who were set to be two of Wisconsin’s most important weapons this season.

Neither player has been able to stay on the field. Pryor has played in three games and Davis just two, but neither receiver has topped 120 yards for the season and they’ve combined for just one touchdown.

Because of the pandemic, Pryor and Davis will have the chance to pursue a fifth year of eligibility in Madison. Rudolph believes they’ll see the value in what an extra year could be.

“There’s probably a pretty good chance,” Rudolph said during a press conference on Wednesday. “Especially with how their years have gone with injury. I think there’s a pretty good chance there. I know coach [Paul Chryst] has spoken with guys more directly … But I would think that those two would want to take advantage of another year.”

Without a reliable passing attack, Wisconsin’s offense sputtered in the second half of the season. The Badgers have scored just 20 combined points over their final three games, including a stretch of nine straight quarters without a touchdown.

Wisconsin still has one more regular season game remaining, and it’s a big one. The Badgers will make up their rivalry game with Minnesota on Saturday. Kick off is at 3 p.m. CT.
