Drew Brees is back in the starting lineup, according to a report.
That’s per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who says Brees will take back control of the New Orleans Saints’ offense after recovering from multiple broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Drew Brees will be the Saints’ starting QB Sunday vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, source tells ESPN. Saints believe he is fully healthy and doctors have cleared him to play.

The former Purdue star missed a little more than a month. He originally suffered the injury in a Nov. 15 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Prior to the injury, Brees was in a dead heat with Tom Brady for the most touchdown passes in NFL history. The two exchanged the record seemingly every week, but Brady has pulled ahead by six touchdowns in Brees’ absence.
This is one of the most important games of the NFL season, so it’s good for the Saints to have Brees back leading the offense.
New Orleans is currently tied with the Packers for the top seed in the NFC. The Chiefs need to win in order to keep their one-game cushion on the Steelers for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. With the NFL expanding to 14 playoff teams this season, only one squad in each conference will earn a first-round bye.
Kick off for this game is at 4:25 p.m. ET.
