The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Hermanns is a fifth-year senior but had the option to return for a sixth season because of the unique circumstances during the pandemic.
Hermanns has been a starter for essentially his entire career, although he has battled injuries at times.
The Albuquerque, N.M. native is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and is majoring in industrial management. Hermanns has appeared in 32 total games during his Purdue career.
Purdue posted a 2-4 record this season.
The Boilermakers’ season finale vs. Indiana was canceled due to COVID-19.
