Move aside, Eddie George. There is a new record holder for the Buckeyes!

Ohio State just clinched a B1G Championship and potentially a berth in the College Football Playoff, in large part to the work of running back Trey Sermon. Sermon has been a key cog all season long, but he took it to another level in Indianapolis.

After a sluggish first-half performance by the offense, the Buckeyes turned to Sermon in the second half. He never looked back, dominating on the ground on his way to 331 yards, a single-game record for Ohio State. He breaks the previous record set by Eddie George in 1995.

Sermon’s performance also allowed the Buckeyes to get past a surprisingly rough outing by Justin Fields with star receiver Chris Olave sidelined. In the end, Ohio State will enjoy the title and wait to see if the CFP Committee puts them in the final four.
