There wasn’t any surprise as to who the MVP of the Big Ten Championship game was going to be.
Ohio State running back Trey Sermon was an absolute lightning bolt the entire game as he finished with 331 rushing yards with two touchdowns. He also averaged over 11 yards per carry throughout the game.

The 331 yards rushing are the most for any player in the history of Buckeye football for one game. He also broke the record for the most rushing yards in a Big Ten title game, which was formerly held by Ezekiel Elliot.
Perhaps his biggest run of the game came during the late stages of the third quarter. It was a 33-yard run that put Ohio State deep in Northwestern territory which led to their first lead of the game.
His performance likely sent the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff and they’ll need him to be great again if they are to go all the way.
