Brendon White is declaring for the NFL Draft, the current Rutgers and former Ohio State safety looking to ride his current season to playing on Sundays.

A transfer to the Scarlet Knights this past offseason, White was a major part of a Rutgers defense that was surprisingly solid in the first-year under returning head coach Greg Schiano. White had 38 tackles with one pass defended and an interception.

In 2018 following a sophomore season where he made five starts, White was named the Rose Bowl MVP where he had eight tackles and an interception in a win over No. 9 Washington. A change of scheme in 2019 saw his snaps limited, necessitating the transfer to Rutgers where he was reunited with Schiano, who was Ohio State’s defensive coordinator in 2018.

In his social media post on Sunday, he briefly acknowledged his time at Ohio State before focusing on this past season, one that he calls “a hell of a ride!”

White will not use his final year of eligibility that would have been granted for this season.
