News doesn’t look too promising for redshirt junior Tracy Sprinkle.

On Saturday, Sprinkle was taken off the field during Ohio State’s game against Bowling Green after suffering an apparent leg injury.

Cleveland.com recently reported that it’s likely that Sprinkle, a team captain, won’t see the field again in 2016

Meyer said Sprinkle’s injury is to his right patellar tendon. It will require surgery, and Meyer said he’s been told by the medical staff that it is likely season-ending.

Sprinkle played in all 12 games last season but only recorded four tackles and recovered one fumble. Ohio State beat Bowling Green 77-10 on Saturday.
