It’s not often that players on college football teams record their coach’s passionate postgame locker room speech and share it on social media. But that’s what happened after Ohio State’s win over Northwestern in the B1G Championship Game.
Over the weekend, a video of Day’s postgame speech made its way to social media. And the Ohio State head coach was not bashful about saying what he thinks about his team’s chances against anyone in the College Football Playoff.
“I don’t care if it’s against Clemson, against Bama, or against Notre Dame, we’re gonna [expletive] beat their ass, I promise you,” Day said on the video. “Just give us that one chance. And we don’t have to beat them 10 times, we don’t have to beat them 20 times, we got to beat them how many times? Once, that’s it. You’re two games away from playing in the national [expletive] championship.”
Here is the video:

Day’s speech was before the final selections were made for the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes were ranked No. 3 and will play No. 2 Clemson in one of two semifinal games.
Obviously, that’s not something out of the ordinary for a head coach to say, especially one who believes in his team. But it’s usually not something seen on social media.
Could Clemson use that as bulletin board material for the semifinal showdown?
