It looks like Bo Pelini’s second run as LSU’s defensive coordinator is coming to a short end.

According to a report from Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Pelini is expected to be fired as LSU had one of the worst defenses in the SEC throughout this season.

The Tigers finished the season at 5-5, but they were the second-worst defense in the conference in terms of total defense. They were also the second-worst defense passing wise as well.

Before his second stint with the Tigers, he was the Nebraska Cornhuskers coach from 2008-2014. During that time, he went 67-27 as head coach with three 10-win seasons. His best result was winning the Holiday Bowl in 2009 as he lost in the Capital One Bowl the two years after that.

Pelini’s first stint as LSU’s DC came from 2005-2007 before he left for Nebraska. Despite being let go, Pelini will likely land on his feet somewhere, especially with that head coaching record.
