James Franklin to be inducted into East Stroudsburg University’s Hall of Fame

The news came Friday that Penn State head coach James Franklin would be inducted into the Hall of Fame at his Alma Mater, East Stroudsburg University, as a member of the 2016 class.
Penn State’s athletic website outlined some of the accolades that earned Franklin the honor:
Franklin was a four-year letterman at quarterback and a two-time All-PSAC selection at East Stroudsburg. He set seven school records as a senior to earn team MVP honors and was a Harlon Hill Trophy nominee as the NCAA Division II Player of the Year.
Among the season records Franklin set were for total offense (3,128 yards), passing yards (2,586) and touchdown passes (19). He graduated having broken or tied 23 school records.
Franklin is 39-27 in six seasons at the FBS level and is 15-12 as the head coach of the Nittany Lions. Penn State beat Kent State in its season opener 33-13 on Saturday.
Hall of Fame inductees will be honored on Oct. 15th during East Stroudsburg’s homecoming week. Franklin graduated from ESU in 1994 and served as the defensive backs coach there in 1996.
