Don Brown isn’t done coaching despite reportedly being let go by Michigan on Tuesday.
At 65-years-old, Brown has pretty much seen it all. He has been a head coach in the past at multiple smaller schools before serving as a DC at Maryland, Connecticut, and Boston College before joining Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines. Believe it or not, Brown also served as an interim baseball head coach at Yale when he was also the DC for the football team.
With the reports of Brown’s firing coming out Tuesday, there was the obvious question about whether or not Brown was done coaching. However, Yahoo! Sports’ Pete Thamel shared comments from Brown’s agent that indicate he is hoping and intending to coach again in 2021.
Thamel also reported that Brown is due $1.7 million as a buyout, but that number is likely due to offset and mitigation:
Don Brown's agent, Gary O'Hagan, told @YahooSports that Brown, 65, is interested in coaching next season. O'Hagan told Yahoo: “Wherever Don Brown goes, he’ll be the best defensive coordinator that university has ever had.” https://t.co/MDQFO91OBr

Brown had some successful seasons in Ann Arbor, but he also left many fans wanting more in crucial moments. In four games against Ohio State, Brown’s unit allowed 179 points, losing every game in that stretch to the Buckeyes.
