Maryland bounced back from the first two defeats of the season, and Donta Scott put an exclamation point on Tuesday night’s win for the Terrapins.

After falling to Clemson and Rutgers in back-to-back games, Maryland was definitely eager to get a positive result. It didn’t take long to build a lead over La Salle with the Terrapins carrying a 15-point lead into the break. From there, they cruised to an 84-71 victory, improving to 5-2 on the season.

Eric Ayala led the way with a game-high 23 points led by an impressive 13-for-15 performance from the free-throw line. He led five Terrapin players in double figures.

However, the highlight of the night came on this putback dunk by Donta Scott. He came soaring in off of one missed shot and put a helpless La Salle defender on a poster, slamming home the offensive rebound with authority.

Scott finished the night with 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

Moving forward, Maryland rejoins conference play with a Christmas Day showdown against Purdue. That game is set to tipoff at 2:30 pm EST on FS1.
