Luka Garza continues to play at an unreal level, even putting up a huge night in a hard-fought game.

On Tuesday night, Garza and the No. 4 ranked Hawkeyes opened conference action against Purdue. Ironically, it felt like the Boilermakers played well against Iowa, but that did not stop Garza from dominating as Iowa pulled away in the second half.

Garza once again led all scorers with a game-high 22 points. He shot 7-for-14, including 4-for-8 from three-point range, and added nine rebounds, an assist, and two blocks for the Hawkeyes. It culminated in a 70-55 victory to begin conference play.

During the BTN broadcast, it was announced that the scoring output was Garza’s 17th straight game of at least 20+ points during B1G competition. Not only is that streak impressive, but it is also the longest streak of 20 or more points since 1987.

It is not hard to understand Garza’s brilliance, but seeing his latest accomplishment in that light is truly something. He truly is on another level than those around him right now.

After taking down Purdue, the Hawkeyes will regroup for a Christmas Day matchup against Minnesota on Friday evening.
