Ohio State will have to wait until 2022 to see Quinn Ewers in Columbus, but the Buckeye commit shined in a big playoff win Thursday.
Ewers is a 5-star quarterback and the top-rated prospect for the 2022 class on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He is out of Southlake, Texas, and is playing his high school ball at Southlake Carroll. Ewers flipped his college commitment from Texas to Ohio State in November.
According to Joseph Hoyt with the Dallas News, Ewers returned from injury unannounced to the public for Thursday’s high school playoff game for Southlake Carroll. He had been sidelined since October due to a sports hernia and an ensuing surgery to correct the issue.
In his return, Ewers put on quite the show in a regional semifinal victory. He completed 20-of-36 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns with Southlake Carroll holding on for a 30-26 victory.
Zack Poff with MaxPreps shared highlights of the game, including Ewer’s work in the win:

Hopefully Ewers continues to shine in the postseason as Ryan Day and Ohio State look forward to his arrival.
