Two Big Ten players are ranked at the top of their position group by a new football think tank. Two other players are ranked second among their respective position groups.
‘The 33rd Team’ has former Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons as the top ranked linebacker for the upcoming NFL Draft. Ohio State guard Wyatt Davis is the top interior offensive lineman.
Parsons opted out of the season to focus on his NFL Draft prep.
Two other Buckeyes are near the top of the list for their groups. Quarterback Justin Fields is second overall among the quarterbacks behind Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, the consensus top pick in next spring’s NFL Draft. Cornerback Shaun Wade is the second-highest ranked cornerback.
Several other Big Ten players are part of the rankings, which can be found here and include wide receiver and tight end.
The think tank is the brainchild of former NFL executive Mike Tannenbaum. Now an analyst at ESPN, Tannenbaum spent time atop the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins organization. The website offers analytics and scouting reports for the NFL and collegiate level as well as a newsletter featuring content.
He drafted notable players such as future Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis, a transformational cornerback as well as center Nick Mangold and left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson, both of whom made multiple Pro Bowl appearances.
