Donovan Peoples-Jones among several Browns who will miss next game due to COVID-19 protocols

Former Michigan receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is one of multiple Cleveland Browns receivers who will miss this weekend’s game due to COVID-19 protocols.
In addition to Peoples-Jones, Browns receivers Rashard Higgins and Jarvis Landry will also be unable to play due to having high-risk close contact with an individual who tested positive for the virus.
The Browns officially placed the impacted players on the COVID reserve list on Saturday afternoon:

Star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is already out for the year with a torn ACL.
This is rough timing for Peoples-Jones and the Browns. With a win over the Jets, Cleveland will clinch its first playoff appearance since 2002. If the Browns lose, their fate could be up in the air in Week 17 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
If there’s a bright side for Cleveland, it’s that the Jets are one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. They were winless prior to last week and are still in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick.
Peoples-Jones has carved out a nice role for himself with the Browns. Earlier this season, he made a game-winning catch in Cleveland’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Overall this season, the former Wolverines has 13 catches for 293 yards and two touchdowns.
Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
