The Big Ten is well represented on Sundays, with a pair of the conference’s former stars potentially in-line for some impressive honors.
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt is the frontrunner for the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year. The former Wisconsin star has moved from 5:2 odds in recent weeks to 2:5, officially moving past defensive lineman Aaron Donald to become the favorite to win the award.
Watt is on the verge of breaking the Steelers record for most sacks in a season. So far this year, Watt has 15 sacks and 53 total tackles along with 41 quarterback hits through 15 games.
Moving up the odds chart fast is Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year. Off the board a week ago, Taylor is now 9:1 and has the second-best odds in the league after Justin Herbert for the top offensive rookie award.
The former three-year starter at Wisconsin has 916 rushing yards with nine rushing touchdowns, including 4.5 yards per carry for the Colts. He was a second round pick in the 202 NFL Draft.
