On Monday, Illinois linebacker and leading tackler Jake Hansen announced that he was declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft. One day later, another Illini defensive player made the decision to start his pursuit of a career at the next level.

Linebacker Milo Eifler announced he will declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. He posted the announcement to his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

Eifler finished the 2020 season with 27 tackles, including 3.5 stops for loss and a sack. He had a really strong season in 2019, when he piled up 63 tackles, 10 for loss and was credited with a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a pass break-up.

During his career at Illinois, Eifler collected 96 tackles with 13.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 2 pass break-ups. He’s choosing to not return to Illinois next season, even though the NCAA has granted a blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes this year.

Also on Tuesday, offensive lineman Kendrick Green announced he would start training for the NFL Draft.
