Michigan’s 2018 class took an early hit.

Four-star linebacker Antwuan Johnson, who was originally Michigan’s first 2018 pledge, announced on Friday that he’s opening up his recruitment:

The Springfield, Ohio native is rated as the No. 6 inside linebacker and the No. 14 player in Ohio in the 2018 class.

It shouldn’t come as a major surprise. Since Johnson committed to Michigan in the spring, he took an unofficial visit Penn State and he plans on visiting Louisville in a couple weeks.

Despite that, the 247sports crystal ball predicts that the Dayton linebacker will wind up at Ohio State even though the Buckeyes haven’t offered him yet.

As it stands, Johnson’s de-commitment cuts Michigan’s 2018 class in half.
