For 15 years, Tom Rinaldi has made many folks cry each Saturday morning during College GameDay.
He’s done it through heartwarming and heart string pulling stories about the college football world. But on Friday, we heard from Rinaldi on GameDay for the final time. The reporter will soon be departing ESPN for FOX, which means those touching stories will no longer be a part of the fall tradition that is College Gameday.
In the only way Rinaldi knows how, he bid adieu to his gig on GameDay with a thank you note tribute story of sorts. Take a look.
Tom Rinaldi was an incredibly talented story teller and was always a good dude to me.. Big thanks to him for the 15 years of emotions on Saturdays in the fall.
I can’t wait to see what he does next.

This tribute does so much justice to what Rinaldi has done during his 15 years. So many amazing stories. There was Tyler Trent at Purdue, a story college football fans won’t be forgetting any time soon. There’s the incredible story of James Connor, which can be easy to forget as he thrives in the NFL.
The tribute does such a good job bringing back all of these incredible stories. There is the Iowa waving story and all the fun in between.
What an incredible run. It’s unsure what Rinaldi’s next role will look like. Let’s just say it will be tough to top his GameDay gig.
