The National Championship game between Alabama and Ohio State is still on track to be played on Monday night but could the B1G get it in the way?
Earlier today, it was reported that the Buckeyes are having COVID issues but not enough to postpone the game. After that report came out, Chris Breece of CBS42 reported that both teams want to play the game as scheduled but the Big Ten is pushing to postpone it:
Following up on the Ohio State COVID issue. I'm told Alabama and the SEC are pushing hard to play the game…Ohio State is too. But the Big Ten office is pushing to postpone.

Perhaps the weirdest part about this is that Ohio State wants to play despite the COVID issues but the conference wants to reportedly delay the game. If it were the other way around, it would be a bit different since the Buckeyes are going through the issues.
We’ll have to see what happens in the coming days as the game is less than a week away. Kickoff is expected to be at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN on Monday, Jan. 11.
The make-up date would be set for Monday, Jan. 18.
