Report: Illinois TE enters transfer portal

The 2020 college football season resulted in plenty of oddities. One of the results may be a player getting a SEVENTH year of eligibility.
Yes, you read that correctly. Illinois tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe is reportedly on the move as he enters the transfer portal. He does so after one season in Champaign and five previous to that at USC.

With the coaching change at Illinois, it seems like a logical time for Imatorbhebhe to move on from the program, especially with the return of starting TE Daniel Barker. Imatorbhebhe was not much of a factor in 2020 as he played five games, catching three passes for 54 yards and just one touchdown.
Thanks to special NCAA rules, the 2020 season does not count against his eligibility. Thus why he is looking at a seventh season.
Whatever school Imatorbhebhe ends up at, it will be his fourth. He spent one semester as a freshman at Florida. Then, he headed off to California where he played three seasons at USC and redshirted in 2018 and 2019 due to injury.
During his three seasons of healthy play, Imatorbhebhe compiled 25 catches for 394 yards and four touchdowns. It will be interesting to see what happens for him down the road.
