An Ohio State assistant will be in unique situation at Oklahoma game

Ed Warinner will look to dial up a winning offensive game plan in one of the toughest places to play in America.
The Ohio State offensive coordinator will have family in the stands. His son, Edward, will be at Memorial Stadium for the monumental showdown between the Sooners and Buckeyes.
But Edward won’t be cheering for his dad, at least not outwardly.
Why? Edward actually won’t be in Norman just because of his dad. He’ll be there because Oklahoma is hosting him on an unofficial visit.
As Cleveland.com’s Ari Wasserman explained in this story, the Warinner family will be in an awkward spot on Saturday. Edward’s allegiances are obviously to his dad and the Buckeyes.

No, Edward won’t be wearing Oklahoma colors. But he also won’t be cheering for the Buckeyes.
“I think it would be kind of Bush League if there’s that one kid in the section screaming. … But I want Ohio State to win,” Edward said to Cleveland.com.
Instead, the three-star recruit will be rocking Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty blue.
The 2018 outside linebacker has mid-level interest for now. He has offers from the likes of Bowling Green Central Michigan and Ohio.
Edward’s hope, of course, is to pick up offers from the blue blood programs like Oklahoma and Ohio State. Edward does plan on taking unofficial visits to B1G powers like OSU.
But for now, it’ll just be an awkward weekend for the Warinner family.
