A little more than 48 hours ahead of Monday’s national championship game, Ohio State received some good news on the recruiting front along with Big Ten East rival Penn State.
Treyaun Webb, a Class of 2023 ATH out of Jacksonville, announced his decision to decommit from Georgia and re-open his recruiting journey. As part of that announcement, he released his top six schools. Both Ohio State and Penn State made Webb’s top six.

According to 247Sports, Webb is a four-star recruit out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville. 247 has yet to release composite rankings for the Class of 2023.
Obviously, there is plenty of time before Webb signs his national letter of intent. However, Webb appears to be a top-end prospect that some of college football’s biggest programs are pining over. Besides Ohio State and Penn State, two of the Big Ten’s most prominent programs, Webb has his pick of other top programs such as Georgia, Florida, LSU, and Notre Dame.
Based on Webb’s note in his tweet, it’s unclear as to why he decommitted and re-opened things. Regardless, there are some folks in Happy Valley and Columbus who are excited to have another shot at getting Webb.
