Report: Former Indiana star Thomas Bryant suffers ACL injury in NBA game

Former Indiana center Thomas Bryant has suffered an ACL injury according to a report. The Washington Wizards center is likely out for the year.
The injury happened on Saturday in the first quarter of the Wizards loss to the Miami Heat. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news on Sunday morning.

It is a devastating blow for both Washington but also the player as Bryant, in his fourth year in the NBA, had seemed to take another step forward developmentally this season. Through the season’s first 10 games, he had career-highs in points per game (14.3) as well as field goal percentage, three point percentage and minutes played.
As a freshman at Indiana during the 2015-16 season, Bryant was a member of the Big-Ten All-Freshman team and was also selected third team on the All-Big Ten Team. He saw a bit of a drop in his sophomore season but still declared for the NBA Draft after two years in Bloomington.
The 23-year old Bryant was a second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft of the Utah Jazz who was claimed off waivers by the Wizards following his first professional season.
