Maryland is looking to pull the upset and record another signature win while facing Illinois Sunday evening, and Donta Scott pulled the Terrapins within two points heading into halftime.

It has been a tight battle throughout the first half between the Illini and the Terrapins. For Illinois, 7-footer Kofi Cockburn has been unstoppable with 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Unfortunately, star guard Ayo Dosunmu shot just 2-for-11 prior to halftime.

For Maryland, Donta Scott put up 11 points and he added to that total at the buzzer. With the clock running down, Scott lined up a deep three-point attempt.

His shot was pure and made the score 34-32, Illini, heading into the break:

Entering Sunday’s game, Illinois was 5-1 in conference play with the lone loss coming against Rutgers. Brad Underwood’s squad has since rattled off four straight wins.

Meanwhile, Maryland entered the game at 1-5 in the conference and riding a three-game losing streak. However, the one win by the Terrapins was a shocking upset on the road against Wisconsin.

Can the Terrapins record another road upset against No. 12 Illinois?
