Current Ohio State stars recall Ezekiel Elliott’s iconic CFP performance: ‘I just remember Zeke dominating’

Former Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott’s performance in the 2014 College Football Playoff is still revered several years later.

Prior to OSU’s meeting with Alabama in this year’s title clash, a couple Ohio State stars took some time to remember Elliott’s star-making performance.

“I just remember Zeke just dominating,” Sermon said. “He played such a pivotal role in that championship run.”

In those two CFP games, Elliott totaled 476 yards and six touchdowns. He went over 200 yards in both games as Ohio State surprisingly marched to that season’s championship.

Sermon is on a similar run right now. Between the Big Ten Championship Game and the Sugar Bowl vs. Clemson, Sermon has rushed for 524 yards.

Against the Wildcats in the Big Ten title game, he set the program record for rushing yards in a single game with 331.

If he’s able to put together a similar performance, the Oklahoma transfer may find himself living on in Ohio State lore for the foreseeable future.
