Report: Ohio State RB Trey Sermon heading to hospital with collarbone injury

Ohio State running back Trey Sermon will miss the remainder of the National Championship game.
That’s according to ESPN’s Maria Taylor, who is working sideline coverage for this game. She also reports Sermon is heading to the hospital to get it checked out and “he can’t raise his hand at all.”
Sermon went down with a collarbone injury after the first play of the game. Here’s the play:

Luckily for Ohio State, running back Master Teague is back for this game after missing multiple contests due to an injury. Teague has scored two touchdowns in the first half to help keep the Buckeyes in the game.
According to Taylor, Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford told Teague, “Trey’s out, we have to win this game for him now.”

This is a crushing blow for Ohio State, as Sermon had developed into arguably the Buckeyes’ best player over the final two weeks of the season. He rushed for a combined 524 yards in the Big Ten Championship and the Sugar Bowl.
Alabama currently leads OSU 14-7.
