There’s still confetti on the turf at Hard Rock Stadium and already, there are top 10 polls for the 2021 season. College football is a thing of beauty, isn’t it?
FOX’s Joel Klatt released his top 10 for next season and neither Alabama nor Ohio State were at the top. The Crimson Tide beat the Buckeyes 52-24 in Monday night’s College Football Playoff Championship.
In fact it wasn’t any team that made the playoffs this year that checks in at No. 1 according to Klatt. That honor goes to Georgia:
Here is my WAY-TOO-EARLY top 10 for 2021-2022

2) @AlabamaFTBL
3) @OU_Football
4) @OhioStateFB
5) @ClemsonFB
6) @CycloneFB

The Bulldogs ended the season 8-2, beating Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl.
Two Big Ten teams, Ohio State at No. 4 and Indiana at No. 7, make Klatt’s projected list.
Ohio State, as noted before, lost in the championship game and will likely have to replace quarterback Justin Fields, guard Wyatt Davis, cornerback Shaun Wade and wide receiver Chris Olave – all projected as top 50 selections in the NFL Draft. While the Buckeyes are deep and had a strong recruiting class, it still is hard to see them reloading to the point where they will make a national championship run.
Indiana is coming off a tremendous season under head coach Tom Allen. They finished the season 6-2, a success despite losing to Ole Miss in the Outback Bowl.
