It wasn’t effortless, far from it, for No. 1 Alabama against the No. 3 Ohio State, despite what a lopsided box score might say. And leave it to Alabama running back Najee Harris to emphatically correct the notion that the Crimson Tide’s 52-24 win over the Buckeyes was anything but easy.
Harris, undoubtedly heading for the NFL, had 79 rushing yards on 22 carries. Alabama had 157 rushing yards, part of 621 yards of total offense in beating Ohio State in the College Football Playoff.
After the game, Harris was asked about the performance of the offense as the Crimson Tide were statistically superior by every mark over Ohio State. When a reporter asked Harris about the play of the offensive line being “effortlessly” dominant against the Buckeyes, the star running back was set off a bit.
“Effortlessly? You didn’t see what they [were] doing?” Harris said after the game.
“They were blowing my ass up, what you talking about? It wasn’t effortlessly. I’ll tell you what, they did their bring bro to be honest with you.”
