Vegas releases early odds to win next season’s College Football Playoff national title

Alabama open as the favorite to win the national championship in 2022. No surprise there.

According to BetOnline, the Crimson Tide are 7:2 to repeat as national champions, the early odds coming just hours after the program’s 52-24 win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff Championship.

Clemson and Georgia check in tied with the second best odds at 4:1.

Big Ten champions Ohio State are next at 13:2.

Staying in the Big Ten, the next best odds are Wisconsin (40:1) followed by Michigan (50:1) and Penn State (50:1). Doesn’t seem like the oddsmakers think anyone in the conference outside the Buckeyes have a legitimate chance.

Northwestern, who made the Big Ten Championship Game, enter next year at 200:1.
