It seems like Urban Meyer heading to Jacksonville to coach the Jaguars has been inevitable. Now, it appears to becoming a reality.

Meyer has reportedly agreed to become the next Jacksonville head coach. Now that speculation of Meyer finally making the leap to the NFL is complete, the next step in speculation is who will be joining Meyer’s staff.

The fun part of this speculation is that we get reporters from both the NFL and college football working their magic on who will be joining Meyer. Here is some of the early speculation. The first bit of speculation we’ll look at is the possible addition of Chris Ash as defensive backs coach and Anthony Weaver as a defensive assistant.

As the tweet mentions, Ash has worked with Meyer previously at Ohio State. He also has collegiate head coaching experience and has worked at Texas as defensive coordinator. Meanwhile, Weaver has garnered some NFL experience working with the Houston Texans.

Another name to watch is Tony Elliott. He is the current offensive coordinator at Clemson and like most coordinators with the Tigers under Dabo Swinney, he’s being vetted for a promotion.

While these early names have mostly centered around coaches with college experience who know Meyer, he is also reportedly looking to some assistants with NFL experience to cover for his gaps in NFL experience.

Yes, the Ohio State football season wrapped up just three short days ago. Now, it’s speculation season, starting with the hiring of Meyer.
