Penn State is going to have to replace one playmaker on the defensive side of the ball in 2021.

On Thursday, Lamont Wade revealed his intentions to enter the 2021 NFL Draft. A four-star member of the 2017 recruiting class, Wade stayed in the state with his decision to go to Penn State. He was the No. 2 player from Pennsylvania for that cycle.

Wade had an immediate impact as a freshman in 2017, contributing 31 tackles and a forced fumble. His most productive season was 2019 when he finished fourth on the team with 67 total tackles and added 4.5 TFL, two sacks, five passes defended, and three forced fumbles.

Wade shared his decision and a goodbye to Nittany Lions fans in a video on his Twitter account:

Wade played all four seasons he was at Penn State, finishing with 153 total tackles, 6.5 TFL, three sacks, an interception, 10 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. Like all seniors in 2020, Wade had the option to return for an extra year of eligibility in 2021, but he is ready to pursue his NFL dreams.

Best of luck to Wade as he makes the jump to the next level!
