A former Ohio State linebacker will be joining Urban Meyer’s staff in Jacksonville.

Monday morning, Anthony Schlegel confirmed on 97.1 The Fan that he will be the head strength and conditioning coach for the Jaguars. Schlegel has been working as a radio host for The Fan’s Morning Juice with Brandon Beam and Bobby Carpenter recently.

“You have the opportunity to work for someone you believe in and trust and understand their culture and what they want in an organization with Coach Meyer,” Schlegel said. “All gas, no brakes, let’s go.”

Schlegel was a linebacker at Ohio State from 2003-05 and spent two seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals. He then returned to Columbus in 2011 where he worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach until 2015.

Meyer was recently hired to be the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
