Michigan senior guard Eli Brooks will be a game-time decision for the Wolverines’ upcoming contest with Maryland.

Michigan assistant coach Phil Martelli commented on Brooks’ status on a Zoom call with reporters on Monday.

“I would say it’s almost hour by hour,” he said. “I don’t know that he’s been ruled out for tomorrow night, but he’s not ruled in.”

If Brooks isn’t able to play, it would be his second consecutive absence due to a strained right foot. He also missed Saturday’s contest, a surprising 75-57 loss against Minnesota.

Michigan suffered its first loss of the season to the Gophers in that game. The Wolverines had started the season 11-0 and continue to look like a potential No. 1 seed this March.

Wake Forest transfer Chaundee Brown started in Brooks’ place against Minnesota. He scored 14 points and added three rebounds in that game.

Michigan and Maryland have already met this season, with the Wolverines earning a 84-73 victory on the road.

Tip-off for round two is at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday on FS1.
